What is it like to attend this early years setting?
This provision meets requirements Children are very happy at this setting. Leaders create a very stimulating environment, where children feel safe and welcome.
They arrive from school eager to start exploring a wide selection of inspirational activities. Children are confident and independent and express their preferences and needs with ease. Leaders carefully consider these when planning meaningful activities, often linked to specific themes of learning.
Leaders value children's voice and prompt them to make their own choices. For example, at snack time, children write down what they would like to eat, while leaders support younger children to practise th...eir writing skills. Leaders have very high expectations of children.
They are warm and supportive and incredibly intuitive to children's needs. In return, children behave exceptionally well, showing high levels of respect and consideration towards their peers and adults. Leaders also provide a quiet room for children who need time to adjust to the new routines or focus on their homework.
Furthermore, leaders have effective systems in place to guide and help children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. As a result, they feel included and flourish during their time at this setting. Leaders are very nurturing.
They value children's achievements and offer praise and affirmation for their efforts. They proudly display children's unique moments, which helps them feel involved and appreciated. This positively contributes towards developing children's emotional resilience.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Leaders are very experienced and knowledgeable. They implement effective systems to gather information about children's interests, preferences and special requirements before they start at this setting. Strong collaborations with parents and schools mean that children adapt and settle incredibly well.
Leaders form great relationships with all children. They are excellent role models and curious to find out more about children's interests or day at school, through meaningful conversations. Leaders then organise and implement fun and exciting activities, which help to broaden children's experiences.
Children have great opportunities to practise their fine motor skills. They use small building blocks to create unique structures, such as large ships or people carriers. Children focus intently and persevere when challenges occur.
They work well with their peers, bouncing ideas off one another, with the view to create something spectacular. Leaders take an active role in their play, offering support or challenging their learning further. This supports children's problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
Leaders provide opportunities for children to be creative and expressive. Children use scissors to cut out their favourite pictures from catalogues to create their Christmas wish list. Leaders support younger children to use the scissors correctly, praising them every step of the way.
At the end, children proudly display their creations to their peers and leaders. This also helps strengthen children's social interactions.Children enjoy engaging in physical activities to build on their gross motor skills, balance and coordination.
Their favourite activity is using skipping ropes. Leaders deliver clear instructions and prompt children to use the ropes in various ways. Some children explore the skipping ropes independently, counting out loud every successful skip.
Leaders also encourage children to work as a team and use the long ropes. Children display high levels of energy and enthusiasm and quickly become competitive, chanting to support their peers.Leaders are very inspirational.
They are reflective and ambitious and strive to provide unique experiences to all children to enhance their understanding of the world. Leaders organise trips and outings to the local parks or seaside. They also involve children in events organised in the local community.
For example, children create beautiful Christmas decorations that will be displayed in a local church. Leaders value their professional development and complete regular training to keep their knowledge current.Partnerships with parents are effective.
